Vertec 4888
The Vertec 4888s are 3-Way speakers. Meaning they require 4 separate amp channels to run; 1 for the high frequency, 1 for the mid frequency, and 2 for the low frequency drivers. The 4x3500 amps have the NL8 output on the back to run the 4 channels over one cable. You can run up to 3 4888s MAX per NL8 run, but to get nominal performance, run 2 per cable run.
INPUT WIRING
- Plug your input for the 4888 stack into Analog 1 on the panel at the top
- Make sure the Blue cables are all plugged in to Input 1 on all the amps unless using Subwoofers on the same rack
- Make sure all amps have the 4888 presets selected
OUTPUT WIRING
Below are a couple of examples on how to wire a Vertec 4888 system with the VRack 4x3500HD. Both examples just use 6 4888s.
6 4888s no Subs
- Remember that these speakers only use NL8
- Since we are only running 6 4888s and no subs, I wired the stack with just 2 per circuit to run the amps at nominal
6 4888s with Subs
- While the 4888s use the NL8 outs the G28s use the NL4s
- The G28s are bi-amped subs (require 2 channels of amplification)
- Notice the I did 2 home runs for the sub runs, they require a lot of power.
- Notice the the Sub Input goes directly into the back of the amp you are using for the subs, make use the amp is on the G28 preset
