I do not hear any audio when checking the recording in VLC.

For whatever reason VLC is unable to play the audio on recordings from Epiphans.  Other playback software such as Windows Media Player should play it just fine

The audio doesn't sound as clean as it should from the front headphone jack.

This is a known issue on Epiphan devices.  Unfortunately these ports don't hold up well and don't always sound the best.  Download the recording from the device and check it on a laptop to be sure.

It looks like my recording is dropping frames according to the on device display.

Another downside of these devices is the onboard displays are not showing a full framerate.  This has been brought up to Epiphan and they say this will be fixed on future devices but our current Pearl Minis, Nanos, and 2s all have this issue.
